FAQ: How do I set up Tank with Quickbooks Online?

As a Tank account holder, you'll be able to quickly easily connect your Tank account to your Quickbooks Online account.

Manual Transaction Upload

Because your financial account is already integrated with Quickbooks, you don't need to download transaction data from your Tank account and upload to your Quickbooks, although you always have that option through your Fleet Accounting Portal. As a reminder, you can always invite a bookkeeper or accountant your Fleet Accounting Portal.

Uploading Transactions Automatically

When you connect your Tank account to Quickbooks, you'll be able to sync all historical transactions, and the data is kept in sync going forward. When asked to log in, please provide the following information:

PhoneNumber: The same phone number you log into your Tank app with, formatted as +15551234567

  • Append "+1" to your phone number
  • Do not include any dashes "-" or parentheses "(" ")"

Password: The same password you already use with your Tank app on your phone

After you've logged in, you'll be instructed to connect the Tank bank feed to a chart of accounts. Once you've assigned a chart of accounts, you'll then be able to review and categorize the transactions according to your accounting workflow.
